Poem About a Sister

I wrote this poem to my niece, who is close to her sister. It is how she taught me about sisterhood, since my own sister died at age 10.
When someone special
Truly touches the heart
The bond can never
Be broken apart
Others can notice
Just at a glance
What can become
If given a chance
That one precious thing
Known only among
Those who speak
The special tongue
A language so pure
It need not be defined
One can almost
Read the other’s mind
The other is there
Tried and true
Strong and determined
To always pull through
It becomes clear
To all who can see
What an amazing person
A sister can be

That is beautiful! Especially the part, “One can almost read the other’s mind.” So true!
Thank you for sharing that.
